Tony Berry is a strategic communications leader with more than thirty years of experience shaping public narratives for complex, mission‑driven organizations. He began his career as a public affairs specialist in the United States Army, where six years of service laid the foundation for his disciplined, audience‑centered approach to communication. After transitioning to the civilian sector, Tony partnered with for‑profit companies, nonprofits, and government agencies, helping each strengthen their public reputation and earn meaningful media visibility.
His career includes serving as press secretary to a United States senator and as senior vice president at a biotech communications agency, where he advised executives navigating high‑stakes issues and emerging technologies. He later served as senior director of media relations for UMass Memorial Health, one of Massachusetts’ largest healthcare systems, leading external communications and guiding the organization through high‑pressure, high‑impact moments.
Tony's work has been recognized across the industry, earning multiple awards for excellence in crisis communications, including three national honors, the PR Daily CEO “Grace Under Pressure” Award in 2020, several Publicity Club of New England Bell Ringer Awards, and PRSA’s Big Apple and Silver Mercury Awards.
